Ross Local School’s nurses are anxious to support you and your family during this time. They will hold office hours from 9:00am - 11:00am in accordance with the distance learning schedule. During this time, your child’s school nurse will be responding to emails should you have questions.

Important Tips to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; dry hands with a clean towel or air dry hands

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are unavailable.

  • Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when sneezing or coughing

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Stay home as much as possible, when going out keep a 6 foot distance from others

  • Stay home if you are sick

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.

  • Clean “high-touch” surfaces daily. These include counters, tabletops, doorknobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, desks, and tablet


Common Symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Difficulty Breathing-seek emergency medical attention


What to do if you or your child is sick:

  • If your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your healthcare provider and report the symptoms. If you are using an Urgent Care facility, please call ahead and notify them of your symptoms.

  • Seek emergency care if you have the following: 

    • persistent pressure in your chest

    • trouble breathing 

    • confusion or inability to arouse

    • bluish lips or face

    • This is not an all inclusive list, please refer to your healthcare provider for any additional symptoms that may be of concern.

If possible, call the hospital and notify them of your symptoms before going to the Emergency Room. If you require emergency care and call 911, notify them that you may have symptoms of COVID-19.
