Dear Ross Local School District Parents and Guardians:

On March 30, 2020, Governor Mike DeWine made an announcement ordering all of Ohio’s public, community, and private K-12 school buildings to be closed to students through Friday, May 1, 2020 due to the coronavirus health crisis. At this time school will resume on Monday, May 4, 2020.

We know the Governor’s order to close school for an additional month presents a challenge to our families. Our district is working diligently to partner with you in furthering your child’s education and well-being.

What does this mean for our students?

Although our school buildings are to remain closed, remote learning will continue through May 1, 2020. We will continue to adjust and administer our virtual learning plans and expectations, provide student services and resources to the best of our ability, and distribute free meals to our students.

The district will continue to provide students in need with two week’s (equal to ten school days) worth of meals through this extended closure (breakfast and lunch). This will occur April 7th and April 21st from 3pm-7pm at the Event Entrance to Ross High School.

Questions?

We will be publishing and distributing an FAQ document tomorrow (March 31st) that will hopefully answer many of the questions you may have about how the next month will look for your student(s). Please check the website referenced below as well as Final Forms for this information.

We are experiencing a health crisis that none of us has experienced in our lifetime. There will be bumps along the way, but your child’s teachers, counselors, building principals, and our support staff are here to work with our families to support you and your children.

Sincerely
Scott Gates, Superintendent
Ross Local School District
